Q) Read The Ghauris and the Slave king Dynasty from your History book on pg 70-71 and write a days journal where you are in the time observing the life of slaves. 150-200 words
It was almost sunrise I woke up.It was cold outside and I wanted to stay in my bed which consisted of a pair of rug mats. However,I had chores to attend and had to leave my warm mats to start the day,s work. After having chicken stalk with bread for breakfast,I headed towards the jails where the captives were kept kept as slaves. It had just been three months when we won a fierce battle against our neighbouring country. And since then it was my duty to make the slaves work on the fields. As usual,I arrived in the jails and opened the men,s lockers.Although unarmed, they were tied in chains.Moaning and ratting,I forced them to enter the crop fields, beating each one with my bamboo stick whenever they groaned.I equipped them with hoes and other things and gave them seeds to plant. It was a potato field and this was planting time and so a lot of ploughing needed to be done. The slaves still in chains worked endlessly throughout the day until it was dark.I had to monitor each one of their work.I felt pity on how they were treated. The slaves were given minimum and least quality of food, wore the same piece of clothing since almost three months and yet we expected them to work day and night. With a heavy heart,I had to force them to work on our fields,it was my duty.
It was morning,i woke up and took the breakfast and went outside to see their lifestyle how they live, there houses, their eatables and their clothing so i went to a house where i saw a kind man i asked him can i come in your house he said you r most welcomeee:D:D:D And i went inside i saw they were wearing a older time clothes with torn all over then i went all around their house i saw old paintings, old furniture, old clothes, simple food and their houses were made up of wooden bricks....I spent that much good day with them(good for them)that they ask to spent a night in their house and i was forced to spent night so i did and i was forced so i spent whole night on a broken bed and i was very uncomfartable but i spent my night and in morning i woke up i went out of there house and i saw on road that people were very strictly giving punish to them so they were very strict......and so on and i no begger not even one beggar on road so no one was that much guilty that they ask for donation and that was there lifestyle and e.t.c
Every thing was just so perfect at that time.we slaves were treated so kindly and equally as others.even i was getting education by sir akbar ansari who was a great scholar and teacher too.muhammad of ghazni was murdered by the ghaznavids rulers and his brothers attacked ghaznavids and destroyed it in revenge.i was so afraid that ghauries would kill us too because we were ghaznavid. As muhammad died his empire broke away. But i ran away to ghauri at the time of attacking in ghazni. And in ghauris i was as a civlian of ghauris. But when army elected Aibak as next king.We all had a relive. Its a great moment of happiness because Aibak was first muslim ruler in northern india.he was very generous and was wise nd known as lakh baksh. It was a typical Monday morning.I woke up at 7:00 am took bath and breakfast, later got ready for my work.I moved forward towards the working area that was basically a farm!My work was to keep an eye onto the slaves whether they are working properly or not.Few slaves were harvesting the crops whereas few were making the crops to get plough.I saw few of them were sitting and not doing anything due to which I hit them with a bamboo stick which was really terrifying.I made the slaves work hard and even more harder for the whole day unless it gets dark.Although that was too tough for me to hit them or to make them work even more harder but it was my task and duty so I has to do it.They were not at all treated properly nor their personal hygiene were proper. Most of the slaves were extremely sick but still I has to hit them to make them work.I do have a soft corner for them in my heart but that was useless.
When I woke up this morning and a cool breeze came in to my face. It was very cold and I wanted to stay in my bed as it was very warm. However, I need to attend my chores so I ate my breakfast, changed my clothes and went to observe the environment, lifestyle, their living and etc. When I stepped outside I saw slaves working very hard. Some people were doing their jobs to earn money like cutting hair, selling vegetables and fruits, selling meat and pottery. On my way I asked a rich man to give a tour around his house who was wearing colored robe. On my tour I saw that the house was made up of finest brick in the city. I saw very brightly colored pictures, vases and other household items. Their furniture was very expensive which was made up of maple and oak. They had shiny and descent kitchen utensils. Then I made my way to a poor man house so I can compare poor and rich man lifestyles. I asked a poor a man to give a tour and he agreed. He was wearing animal skin. The house was made up baked mud which was the weakest kind of brick in the city. I saw 4 torn pictures, some broken vase and stone furniture. They had rusted metal kitchen utensils. Before going to my house I gave the old man some gold coins. In my home I compared everything that I noted down in the rich man house and the old man house. After the comparison I slept very peacefully because I was tired. In my dreams I thought that it’s a very big injustice for slaves to work very hard and giving them little money. We reached there by 12:00pm.I entered and saw that normal workers were dressed up like kings....I was amazed/Shocked.If the workers are like this so what about the kings :0!! I was looking all around suddenly i saw a man who welcomed me warmly!! We went on I saw many strange things like people making paintings and some were making poetry.. We moved on I saw M.Ghauri and his army preparing themselves for the war..I saw Quttubudin Aibak having a strange thing in his hand?!?!..
It was a paper message in his hand an he was reading it as loud as possible...I really couldn't stop my self from laughing because every thing was so old ..Ladies were dressed like i today was there wedding day and etc... though everyone there was extremely serious.... Some body came to me and said King is very angry,, you will be punished...I suddenly stopped and apologized.. then my day passed by looking old things I enjoyed my self and went back to Home :) Iffat Imam :D
Jan 18, 2012 I entered a nobleman's house and there i saw huge designed gates, i saw big houses and when i further went inside i realized that the people were very different from us they wore lots of heavy jewellery and embroidered clothes. I was really amazed to see their lifestyle, i wanted to know more, so i went to the palace of Muhammad Ghauri i then came to know that artists from all over the Asia have come to make beautiful paintings, the people of that time were all very nice to each other. I was very pleased how every one behaved with me, I took some pictures of them with me, they all were very sweet and they certainly gave me many gifts such as heavy rings, embroidered gown, net bail etc. And i returned with a happy face but sad heart.
As in my dream I saw that I was in the era of the glories the slave king dynasty so I went to my dream projector and completed my dream there I had a greater time I saw people wary strange cloths made up of animal skin and cotton. Girl wore the same clothes as today but the boys wore wary phony clothes they had wary strange shalwar with a small kamiz the police had surds with them there were shops of fruits and vegetables. They used horse carts for transport. I made a friend his name was shaid he was a nice and genera’s man he offered his prayers on time we went to the grate restraint at that time and ate the traditional food which was wary good and spicy then we drank some lasi which was wary sweet then we ate some wary sweet mangos. When it was the night in my dream I went to sleep.
I was appointed as the architect, to make the new palace for the king in the slave king dynasty. After the lavish breakfast in the palace I was ordered by the king to start the work from today. I instructed the workers to mix up the cement and build the boundary according to the plan. I wanted to have a survey of the other building so I set out for a tour. On my way I observed that the poor ones were struggling to at least feed themselves but the rich ones had everything they wanted. I saw a lot of poverty and people suffering. One of them was a woman and a child sitting under a tree and crying. After my inquiry I came to know that she was the wife of a slave who hasn’t came home since last two months. She was a servant at a house but recently she lost her job and now she is hungry from last two days. I was so furious about that mean slave who has feeding himself but he doesn’t even cares about is family. After reaching back to the palace I came to know that, that slave is not allowed to meet his family, he tried to run but was caught and he was whipped, he too is starving from last one and a half day. I felt sorry for him but there was nothing that I could do. I realized that how much injustice was there and what type of difficult life these slaves spent.
I was in the era of the slaves king dynasty.when i saw all the houses and their condition i was shoked to see that how they are living in such small houses made up of strauss, mud and low quality bricks which can anytime be broken when I went inside their home It was such different from our lifestyle i was shoked to see such heavy jewellry their palace of kings were such big many types of tools for a war, such big big gates, many of gold, they were a good painters, there sketching were amazing but the people were so good they well behave with me they empressed my heart i was so happy but sad also because felt bad about the people those who have very small houses......How would they survie in such difficult life.
A loud noise woke me up I hastily get off my bed and I ran towards my window. I peeked out of my window. I caught a horrible sight over there . A slave was being beaten by the guards .He pleaded them for mercy but they had not accept his forgiveness. While i was watching this terrible incident my maid called me for the breakfast. After having my breakfast I changed my clothes and went off to the village. I saw some slaves were carrying a heavy load from one place to another place. The complexion of the slaves was very dark black. they looked very poor and helpless. The guards were treating them like animals. Some slaves were working at the well pouring out water . Their houses were made of straws and were looking old fashioned. There was very little amount of food water and other things in homes were very rough and made up of stones and bricks. In their houses there were slave women and children were also busy in working and looked feeble, pale and tired . Any one who disobey the law was punished. ALL the slaves work from down to dusk. With the harsh unforgettable and scary memories I came back to home . I was stirred to observe there is no comparison between the hard life of slaves and luxurious life.
21- jan-2012 Last week I went to Gaur where I felt really pity for the slaves. As I entered the kingdom I noticed that a huge crowd was gathered in the central town. When I went closer I saw that poor men were lying on the street and a king’s guard was cutting his neck with a knife. When I asked people over there they told me that they disobeyed the king’s laws. Well then I went to a small hotel and took some rest. In the evening I hired a guide for showing me the kingdom. As I was watching people I was feeling sorry for them. I noticed that people were said to work twenty hours in a day and then they were given a single plate of overcooked breads. Women were supposed to make good quality food for the king’s men, clean the streets and sew the clothes. Children were treated rats. At night I observed a prince snatching all the money of the people on the streets but no body was taking action against him but when I saw a normal man robbering a small bun from a shop, his hands, legs and head was cut. Then in the morning I headed back towards my country but was not alt all happy to visit Gaur.
